🚍SCHOOL BUS SAFETY MATTERS IN TISHOMINGO COUNTY! 🛑 As our school buses hit the roads, let’s all do our part to keep our students safe on their journey to and from school! Every child deserves a safe ride. Here are important rules for drivers and safety tips for students to keep in mind: 🚗 DRIVERS: KNOW THE LIGHTS & LAWS 🟡 Yellow Flashing Lights: The bus is preparing to stop. Slow down and prepare to stop your vehicle. 🔴 Red Flashing Lights & Extended Stop Arm: The bus has stopped to load/unload students. YOU MUST STOP! Do not proceed until the red lights stop flashing, the stop arm retracts, and the bus begins moving. 👀 Stay Alert: Watch for children in school zones, neighborhoods, and around bus stops, especially during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal hours. 🚌 PARENTS & KIDS: BUS STOP SAFETY TIPS • Arrive Early: Be at your bus stop at least 5 minutes before the scheduled pickup time. • Stand Back: Stay at least 10 feet (5 giant steps) away from the curb while waiting. • Wait for the Signal: Always wait until the bus comes to a complete stop and the driver signals it is safe to board. • Cross Safely: When exiting, look left-right-left for incoming traffic before crossing the street. 🤝Let's keep our roadways safe for all Tishomingo County students.

Does your child take prescription medication that needs to be administered at school?

According to updated nursing guidelines, school nurses cannot administer prescription medications without a completed authorization form or physician's order.

Under the Nurse Forms section, download and print the Prescriber Authorization form.

Have your healthcare provider complete and sign the form, then return it to the school.

A Public Budget Hearing for the 2026-2027 Budget of the Board of Directors of the Tishomingo County Special Municipal Separate School District will be held July 21, 2026, beginning at 06:00 PM at District Office, 1620 Paul Edmondson Drive, Iuka, MS 38852. Following the Public Budget Hearing, a Special Called Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Tishomingo County Special Municipal Separate School District will be held at roughly 6:45pm.

Tishomingo County High School Students Compete on National Stage in Texas
SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Two outstanding local students are representing Tishomingo County High School (TCHS) on the national stage this week at the National Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Leadership Conference.

Abigail Robinson and Aubrey Brockenshire traveled to San Antonio to face off against the top business-minded students from across the country. Months of preparation, dedication, and rigorous study have culminated in this prestigious opportunity to compete at the national level.

The two Braves are competing in highly specialized categories:

Abigail Robinson is showcasing her professional communication and readiness in the Job Interview competitive event.

Aubrey Brockenshire is demonstrating her mastery of corporate governance and meeting structure in the Parliamentary Procedure event.

A Community Effort
School officials emphasized that reaching nationals is a massive achievement, noting that the journey was made possible through a strong network of local support.

The trip was sponsored in large part by the Tri-State Educational Foundation, whose continued investment helps provide local students with life-changing academic opportunities. Additionally, school representatives extended a special thank you to the dedicated bookkeeping staff at TCHS and the parent chaperones who volunteered their time to travel and support the competitors.

Iuka Middle School Students Excel at FBLA National Leadership Conference in San Antonio

IUKA, MS — July 2, 2026 — Iuka Middle School is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of its Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) students following their stellar participation in the FBLA National Leadership Conference held in San Antonio, Texas.

The week-long national event brought together top students from across the country to network, attend professional development workshops, and hear from inspiring guest speakers. Iuka Middle School's qualifying students represented their community on the national stage with exceptional dedication.

Among the high-achieving competitors, Rhett earned an impressive 8th place finish in the NATION for the Spreadsheet Application competitive event.

FBLA is open to students in grades 7 through 12, making it a perfect opportunity for middle schoolers to get a head start. Local advisors encourage parents to get their students involved for the upcoming school year. The organization offers students a fun, engaging environment to build their resumes for college and future careers, unlock exclusive scholarship opportunities, and develop vital soft skills that modern employers look for.

With the new school year approaching, Iuka Middle School students are invited to join FBLA, get involved, and potentially become the next National Champion.
