Belmont High School Baseball Earns National ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award

BELMONT, MS — The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) has officially recognized the Belmont High School Baseball team as a recipient of the 2025–26 ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award, presented by Sports Attack.

The national award honors high school and college programs that maintain a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale for the full academic year. The Belmont Braves exceeded that benchmark, posting an impressive 3.37 cumulative team GPA.

Belmont was one of just two high school programs in the state of Mississippi—and one of only 320 high schools nationwide—to earn the honor out of the ABCA’s membership of over 15,000 coaches. Across the country, more than 800 member programs (including nearly 500 colleges) met the criteria following nominations submitted by head coaches after the spring semester.

"This is a national honor that our entire program and community are very proud of," said Coach Michael Hindman. "Thank you to the hard work of our players, coaches, teachers, and administrators for making this happen off the field."
