2 Hour Delay Wednesday, December 11

Due to the potential of hazardous road conditions in the morning, Wednesday, December 11, Tishomingo County Schools will operate on a 2 hour delayed schedule tomorrow. Buses will begin 2 hours later than normal. Students should report to school 2 hours later than normal. All staff should report at 9 a.m.

SEMIFINALISTS IN THE 2020 NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM:
Belmont High School senior, Sam Horn, has been chosen as a National Merit
Semi-Finalist. This distinction is achieved when students taking the PSAT score in the top 1% of students nationally. Semifinalists are then eligible to apply for National Merit Finalist status and potentially earn additional scholarships. Best wishes to Sam in his quest for National Merit Finalist. Tishomingo County FFA Members Compete at Nationals

Eight members of the Tishomingo County Career and Technical Center FFA Chapter competed in three different competitions at the 92nd National FFA Convention held in Indianapolis, Indiana from October 29-November 2, 2019. All eight of the members that competed did an outstanding job and represented Tishomingo County and the state of Mississippi very well. These students were afforded the opportunity to compete at the national competitions after being named state champions in Employment Skills, Marketing Plan, and Ag Sales back in June of this year. Click on the link to continue reading the article...

This publication is a comprehensive resource guide full of information about careers in the manufacturing, energy, agriculture, transportation, construction, health care and information technology! It also includes lists of community colleges and training programs that are available here in the state. Please take a minute to check out the digital editions of these publications. Also, ask your child what they thought about this magazine. This is a great time to ask them what careers they think they might want to consider, what training those careers require and how to pay for that training.

Congratulations to Belmont senior, Marlie McClung, for being selected to serve on the Inaugural Student Advisory Council!

The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) announced today the members of the inaugural State Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council. The council includes students in grades 11-12 or first year of college to serve as members for a term of two school years. More than 150 students from across the state applied for membership on the council and 83 were selected.
